The 5-hour short course on Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD) provides healthcare professionals with comprehensive knowledge of the safe and effective use of CVADs.
This course covers a wide range of topics, including the indications for CVAD placement, the different types of CVADs, their similarities and differences, the Groshong®️ valve function, and much more.
Learners who successfully complete the course will earn a digital badge and certificate of course completion that can be downloaded and shared via social media.

Discuss the most common causes of PICC line occlusions
Identify the complications that can occur with the care and maintenance of the PICC line
Identify the steps required for the care and maintenance of the PICC Line
Identify how the risk of infection can be decreased for the client with a PICC line
Review the manifestations of a venous air embolism
Determine treatment strategies and options for various client scenarios, including patients with autism, patients with fragile skin, and patients with Phlebitis
