Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this micro-credential, learners should be able to:

  • Integrate vascular assessment as a priority for lower limb wound management

  • Differentiate between arterial and venous lower extremity ulcers and their management

  • Recognize how to treat the cause, optimize co-factors for healing and determine the ability to heal

  • Evaluate patient-centred concerns, including pain for optimal compression therapy and vascular ulcer treatments

  • Identify how to treat other causes of leg ulcers through interprofessional team assessment, biopsy, or other management procedures

Micro-credential Overview

In this 5-hour micro-credential, learners will explore how to care for intermediate leg and foot ulcers.  Learners will discover how to assess, diagnose, and treat various leg and foot-related diseases and ulcers, as well as, evaluate patient-centered concerns, including pain and optimal compression therapy and vascular ulcer treatments.
