Upon successful completion of this micro-credential, learners should be able to:
Integrate vascular assessment as a priority for lower limb wound management
Differentiate between arterial and venous lower extremity ulcers and their management
Recognize how to treat the cause, optimize co-factors for healing and determine the ability to heal
Evaluate patient-centred concerns, including pain for optimal compression therapy and vascular ulcer treatments
Identify how to treat other causes of leg ulcers through interprofessional team assessment, biopsy, or other management procedures
In this 5-hour micro-credential, learners will explore how to care for intermediate leg and foot ulcers. Learners will discover how to assess, diagnose, and treat various leg and foot-related diseases and ulcers, as well as, evaluate patient-centered concerns, including pain and optimal compression therapy and vascular ulcer treatments.
