Overview

In this 30-hour micro-credential, learners will explore airport wildlife management bird profiles and identification, mammal profiles, management awareness and safe firearm use, and how to develop an effective wildlife management plan. 

Learners who successfully complete the course will earn a digital badge and certificate of course completion that can be downloaded and shared via social media. 

You will have access to the course for 90 days to work through the content.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, learners should be able to:

  • 01. Discuss Canadian bird species, the level of strike risk posed by problem bird species, and ways to mitigate these risks.

  • 02. Describe airport control systems and management techniques that are a hazard to aircraft in Canada

  • 03. Describe the importance and purpose of having a Bird Strike Committee and how this committee can help to prevent negligence and liability risks llanelane

  • 04. Determine the different legislation and training required for handling and possessing firearms

  • 05. Evaluate what elements need to be included in an effective wildlife management plan, including the need for developing a risk assessment programplane
