Overview

This is the first short course of a series of five short courses for our Airport Administration and Services Micro-credential Program. Each course contains four modules, discussions, and quizzes. 

In this short self-directed online course, learners will explore the history of Canadian and American airports, the differences and commonalities between airlines and airports, and how airports are amalgamated by many different organizations that are interdependent of one another.

Learners who successfully complete the course will earn a digital badge and certificate of course completion that can be downloaded and shared via social media. 

You will have access to the course for 90 days to work through the content.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • 1. Distinguish between the history of Canadian and American airports

  • 2. Discuss how an airport is an amalgamation of many different organizations that are interdependent on one another

  • 3. Discuss the differences and commonalities between the airlines and the airports and how they are viewed as important partners within this industry

  • 4. Recognize the objective of an Airport Safety Program and its aim to prevent and reduce accidents and incidents and to eliminate hazards.
