Adaptation is about preparing for a changing climate while resiliency is about reducing the damages caused by climate change impacts. This course identifies and describes various adaptation solutions and strategies that have been implemented by local governments and organizations to provide the learner with an understanding of some of the ways climate resiliency can be achieved.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Summarize sector-based climate change impacts including forestry, agriculture, human health, natural systems and the economy.
  • Describe the key concepts of climate change adaptation, resiliency and mitigation; and 
  • Identify, through case studies, various adaptation solutions and actions that can help strengthen climate resiliency at the local and regional level.
